Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information Polytimer collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information. The short version: we collect as little as possible and never sell your data.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
Polytimer does not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use any feature of the app. If you contact us via the Contact page, we receive your name, email address, and the contents of your message solely to respond to your inquiry.
Automatically collected information
We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand
aggregate usage patterns — which timers are used, page views, approximate location and device type.
These services set first-party cookies (_ga, _clck, _clsk)
and Clarity records anonymised interaction data such as clicks and scrolling so we can find usability
problems. We never collect your name, email or any personally identifiable information through
analytics, and we do not sell data or use it for advertising.
Local storage
Polytimer saves your timer settings (theme preference, sound preferences, saved timers) in your
browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.
2. Cookies
Polytimer sets first-party analytics cookies through Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, as described above. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party marketing cookies, and we run no ad networks. A minimal session cookie may also be set by the hosting provider for standard web infrastructure purposes. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or with any content blocker — Polytimer works exactly the same either way.
3. Third-Party Services
Polytimer loads fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests a font, Google's servers may log your IP address per their own privacy policy. We also use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity for usage analytics, and Web3Forms to deliver contact form messages. We do not use any advertising networks or social media tracking pixels.
4. Data Retention & Deletion
Contact form submissions are retained only long enough to respond to your inquiry, then deleted. Your local browser data (localStorage) can be cleared at any time through your browser's settings.
5. Children's Privacy
Polytimer is a general-purpose tool appropriate for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Polytimer after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
